5 years ago, Paula got into an accident and broke her ankle.
She could no longer wear normal footwear and experienced severe pain in the balls of her feet while walking (Plantar Fasciitis). This led to the beginning of her search of a comfortable pair of shoes that would offer her some type of relief. Her search was futile as she was unable to find a solution to her discomfort. Determined to restore her life, she set out on a mission to design her own line of shoes that would address her pain.
After numerous designs and prototypes, she emerged with a solution which completely eliminated Plantar Fasciitis - Sofa Shoes. This led to her recovery and she can now wear any kind of shoes, pain free.
With the invention of Sofa Shoes, it has received plenty of media attention and won the Innovation Award by the Department of Industrial Promotion 2013. It is also certified by Orthopedic doctors and more than 40,000 pairs were sold last year.
